I Survived Irene

Sunday, August 28, 2011

I wrote a little post over here, and other than that there's not much to report. I wanted to be adventurous and see what was happening downtown, but without a subway or bus to catch, that wasn't really an option. Other than some potentially tree-toppling winds this evening, Irene hasn't been a menace to the Upper West Side... hooray! (although Starbucks has been closed for two whole days) I was seriously dreading days without power and eating cereal for dinner.

Finally, and contrary to popular opinion, I think Mayor Bloomberg did a great job with storm prep. Why not be over-prepared?? If a dangerously large hurricane were barreling toward my city you better believe I'd be shutting down subways and evacuating people...
